WR Group was commissioned to carry out a complex oversized transportation of a tissue paper machine for Arkhbum Tissue Group LLC. Arkhbum Tissue Group belongs to the Austrian-German group of companies Pulp Mill Holding GmbH, one of the leading wood chemical companies in Russia and Europe. Today, the Arkhbum Tissue produces 70 thousand tonnes of tissue paper annually in Vorsino (Kaluga region, Russia).
As part of a plant modernization project, WR Group developed a special logistical solution for the safe transportation of the overdimensional equipment, made in Europe, to Russia. A challenge that WR Group met well was the numerous pick-up locations within the European Union from which the production plant components had to be simultaneously transported to Vorsino for customs inspection.
The specialists of the WR Logistics GmbH prepared every single load thoroughly. In total, more than 180 vehicles were needed, including mega trailers and low-loaders, to transport the complete plant from various parts of Europe to Russia. The entire logistics process required very precise planning from the WR Group. The WR Group’s logistics specialists from the European and Russian sides thought through and prepared different transport routes for standard and oversized cargos. WR Group coordinated and controlled the entire logistics process, including organization of the necessary warehouse logistics.
The WR Group’s many years of experience on the Russian market as well as its expert knowledge in matters of smooth customs clearance made it possible to clear all plant components with a single HS-code (classification decision). This was a great advantage for the customer, as it reduced his company’s tax burden. Professional implementation by the experienced team of the WR Group ensured the client met the planned transit times. The complete equipment was delivered on time. The tissue paper machine was immediately installed in the building construction.
